How Liam at Kalico Home Improvements cut out transposition errors (and got his evenings back!)

By using Framepoint, I'm saving around about 30 hours a month. With this system, my conversion rate is surpassing what it ever has done.

My name's Liam Best, founder of Kalico Home Improvements based in Staffordshire. I've been in this industry since I was 16 years old. I won a job last week and the lady said, you're not the cheapest, Liam, but you're the most professional and we want to go with you, and I'm pretty sure that's down to the Framepoint quotation that I sent her.

Before using Framepoint, one of my bugbears was spending time in the evening writing quotes out - and I've done it several times where it's a bi-fold door, for instance, is two and a half meters long, and I've gone 2.7 because it looks like a seven at that time. And that's cost me like, over a thousand pounds! With the Framepoint system you do your initial survey and it's all saved. There's gonna be no errors, you can set your template up for your quotes and it's kind of almost done in one go. As long as you get it right first time Framepoint's got that in the box for you.

The lady that I went to see last week, she's got white windows currently and she really wanted grey. I was able to take a picture of the front of her house, transpose the grey windows over - she thought it was amazing, she could see exactly how the job's going to look. Straight away, she made her mind up instantly. She says, “that's what I want and that's what I'm gonna go for”.

If a customer - and it has happened - a customer said, “oh, Liam, I told you I didn't want an opener on that side. I wanted it on the other side” to keep that customer service level, you're like, “I'm going to have to concede” – I’m going to have to say, “alright then I'm just going to have to get you a new window” and that's all I can do! But with this, you know, it's black and white – well… it's not… it's in colour!

They could see the window from inside, they could see it from outside, they've signed it - there's no argument so if the customer's decided that she wants a window somewhere else or an opener somewhere else, she's gonna have to pay for it.

If there's another lockdown, it's obviously not gonna be good news for anybody, but by using Framepoint, doing it remotely almost, you can give people a ballpark quotation. You can certainly show them exactly what they're gonna be getting and it just keeps you in their minds for when lockdown eases.

You can customise the system to sue you and the supplier that you use. It's absolutely designed for somebody that's not a tech person. The best way of describing it is, if you can use an Etch-A-Sketch, then you can use this system. In a selfish way. I don't want everybody to be on it because then I'm losing a bit of an edge if you like! But there's plenty of work out there for everybody. I suppose. I know what else to say, it’s got everything I need!
